Little Personal/Family Victories… yea!

Just a short post about how I’ve wanted to see my friends daughters perform ever since we met at our children’s school six years ago…

Finally!

While we may have missed the opportunity to see one of their fabulous flamenco shows as they have moved on to a different dance company, we were rewarded with an outstanding show this afternoon.

Lovely young men and women, with these two my favorite stars!

Whoops- only snagged one of the girls in costume.

Did You See the Strawberry Moon?

I learned a new term- “Strawberry Moon.” Isn’t it interesting how there are so many different terms and names for the phenomena all around us in our natural world? So many of us have either forgotten about them or they have simply fallen by the wayside because we are out of touch with nature now-a-days in the modern world… time marches on, eh?

With my super-novice photography abilities, I snapped a few pics on the lovely moon we were all talking about on Social Media Tuesday night.

So, what is a strawberry moon, anyhow?

“Full Moon Names”

“The month of June’s full Moon’s name is the Full Strawberry Moon. June’s Full Strawberry Moon got its name because the Algonquin tribes knew it as a signal to gather ripening fruit.
It was often known as the Full Rose Moon in Europe (where strawberries aren’t native).”

Cheating at Laser Tag Should Be Allowed for Parents… I’m just saying…

So, I got to play laser tag tonight at a graduation party. I’ve never done this before, and I don’t think this time really counted either, but it sure was fun! And when I say “played laser tag” I mean cheated, got armed by Guy In Charge #2, and sniped at The Boy and all the other teens at The Boyfriend’s party. I would have taken out The Girl, too, if I could have. I tried to get Joseph, our favorite snack food guide, buy he blew me away before take out any more kids. Stinker.

MWA HA HA HA HA!!!

I’m a cheater, I admit it. And when the kids all figured it out, which was immediately since discretion is NOT my forte, I passed the laser gun off to The Husband. Now, HE was good at hiding it in his jacket and picking off the teens discretely.

Until Guy In Charge #1 came and took it away. Spoil sport. It seems that once savvy, the kids weren’t happy about the Rogue Mom sneaking through the house (definitely against the rules) and colluding with Guy In Charge #2 to reset her weapon multiple times.

Lol.

Cry babies!

Little Bits of Fun on a Long Weekend…

-An attempt at trying to make my own Nutty Irishman at home. Verdict: mine wasn’t as good as the bartender’s.

-A garage full of teenagers working out how to build a boat out of cardboard for their AP Physics project. Their only goal is to do better than their friends in the other class. Good luck to them…

-And one last bonus: neighbor friend of The Husband had a grilling get-together this weekend. Thanks to them, I was able to meet people right around the corner who’s home I pass nearly every day. What a nice group of people! Lesson learned: get out there and meet the people in your neighborhood. Mr. Rogers would be proud of you.
